We are excited to share that Motherhood NG Initiative was recently featured on TVC News to mark the International Day of the Girl Child 2024!
Shining a spotlight on Girls’ Rights
The International Day of the Girl Child, observed every October 11, is a global call to action to amplify the voices of girls, promote their rights, and highlight the unique challenges they face. This year’s theme focused on empowering girls through education, health, and innovation—values that sit at the heart of our mission at Motherhood NG Initiative.

our voice on National Television
During the TVC feature, our team shared the impact of our work in addressing issues such as:
- Teenage pregnancy prevention through our Teenage Well Project.
- Period poverty reduction by distributing sanitary pads and delivering menstrual hygiene education.
- Maternal and child health through Project Safe Birth and innovative programs like teaching mothers to use Google Calendar as an immunization reminder tool.
We also highlighted the importance of investing in girls’ education and digital literacy, ensuring every girl has the tools and confidence to build a brighter future.
Why This Matters
According to UNICEF, more than 10 million Nigerian girls are out of school, often due to poverty, early pregnancy, or lack of menstrual hygiene support. By bringing these conversations to national platforms like TVC, we are helping to raise awareness and inspire action toward ending these inequalities.
